Radiant ceilings: a homogeneous heating solution

The principle: heat a sealed plenum 3 to 10 cm high.

How does a radiant ceiling work?

  • The films heat the plasterboard on contact with them.
  • They radiate towards the R'BULL pro aluminium insulation.
  • The reflective insulation distributes the heat throughout the plenum(the technical space between the ceiling and the insulation).

R'BULL pro installation

The insulation is plugged into the hangers slightly above the furring, with a wall return to create a sealed plenum. Airtightness is ensured with aluminum adhesive.

eFilm Pro series installation

Fire-retardant heating films are unrolled on the underside of furring strips (metal rails). They are temporarily held in place with double-sided adhesive.

Electrical connection

Heating foils are electrically connected to each other and controlled by a programmable thermostat.

Laying the facing

Plasterboard in contact with the heating films. Because of the low temperatures applied, it is not necessary to use specific boards for this purpose.

Installation of heating foils

Heating films were installed on the underside of the metal framing.

Installation of reflective insulation

Before installing the heating foils, reflective insulation was installed, with a wall return.

This creates a thermal bell to collect and reflect infrared heat from the ceiling.

Additional heating for even distribution

Additional heating foils provide the necessary complement to heat the room evenly over 100% of its surface.

Finishing with plasterboard

All that remains is to install the plasterboard.
